System Design

Hot well. Cold well.
Hot water, always.

The mixing tank acts as the cold well, the hot water tank as the hot well. Make-up and return water only ever enter the cold well — so after the first few cycles, the hot well stays hot and the building always draws water at temperature.

A heat pump is only as reliable as the water running through it. Hard, high-TDS or untreated feed water causes scaling in the heat exchanger, fouling in the tanks and steadily falling efficiency — which is why every Fluidverse heat pump system is designed around treated water.
